I'm also interested in finding out about lathes - I just bought a new house
with large shop, and it came witha lathe!  It's a 6' bed Southbend with 16"
swing, and is big!  That's why I'm getting it - it's too big to move.

It seems to have all the features, etc, and may be about 30 years old.  Any
ideas of what it's worth, and what to look for in terms of wear?
