It sounds like what you need is a reciprocating saw or what is commonly
called a "cut-off saw" in the constuction business. This saw has a
reciprocating blade like a jigsaw but the tool is long and narrow with the
blade extending from the end. They are available now in cordless and air
powered versions. The blades can be quite long (>8") and are stiff, good
for pushing through drywall (or leg tissue) to start a cut. Depending on
the blade they can be very aggressive. A leg could be severed in 2-3 seconds.
