Being a newcomer to this list, I apologize of this has been covered in
detail
before. However, I was told that someone on this list had discussed a cure
for a problem I'm having with my sandblaster.
The cabinet I have is a smaller table-top unit I purchased from Northern
Hydraulics. It's a red painted sheet metal cabinet and uses a siphon
system
to deliver the sand which collects at the bottom of the cabinet. The
problem
is that the sand (aluminum oxide crystals, actually) spits. Sometimes I
get
nothing but air being delivered, sometimes air and sand. The aluminum
oxide is dry, and I can fairly steadily get about 8 CFM of air at 100 PSI
to the gun. Yet it spits. I think the problem is in the pickup tube, but
I'm searching for a cause/cure.
Any help would be appreciated.
