you are lucky-your bed is same cover from 1954-1987 shortbed stepside.

go wreck yard cruising, goto walmart or other box store or movie theater or 
place with lots of traffic(dont play on the freeway!) and look for any shortbed 
stepside chevy up to 1987 and ask owner about it.
