thanks wayne, i did try some soapy water, but i used ultra-suede over
headliner foam for my headliner and can't get it wet. i might have to go with
door-edge trim instead. that sucks because it looked realy good, what little
rubber i had installed.

Be sure to use soap/water as a lubricant - go alittle heavy on the soap. The
rubber isn't very pliable so i'd lay in out in the sun a bit before trying
to install so it'll have a bit more flex --wayne

trying to get my headliner rubber in my 58. any hints or suggestions to
getting it in? started at the rear center, everything went fine until the
first corner. it won't go in, i've torn the round lockbead up at the corner.
i'll install from the other side so the torn part won't be in a corner, but
i'm a little befuddled.
