I'm (still) thinking of putting a newer engine in my 56 GMC, which has the 316 v8. It has a hydramatic transmission. Will this bolt up to the newer engine? Maybe a 389? Or would I have to go to a newer trans., like a 700-R4? Is there a 700-R4 indicator available? To replace the original 4 spd one. Bob K in PHX.,AZ |
