To all, I have cut out the old right outer cowl panel and am fitting the
patch panel in. I took measurements galore and am comparing to the left side
as well (measurements). Left to right are actually at least an 1/8" off from
each other.
If anyone has done this before, if the door measurements are correct from
upper to lower does it matter if the upper panel line and lower cab cowl lines
are square to each other. I will also have to trim the door edge of the panel
for correct fit. You can see what I mean at:

I also found it interesting to have to melt out at least 3/16" of lead to
get to the seam to separate the outer cowl from the cab. I never did this
before, I played with some 60/70's trucks and lots of Jeeps. Is his the way it
goes and make it work? Learn something new everyday I guess, any help would be
greatly appreciated.
