well, i sold out. i got the new wheels/tires i been chasing. found them
in portland 3 years ago, finally got the guy to sell tehm to me a year
ago-did the 1,000 miles in 24 hours with my buddy. bought new tires a
year ago.
got teh wheels sandblasted last week, got the wheels powdercoated and
finalyl got the tires mounted to rims.
well, tire shop seriously chipped teh new powdercoat. so be warned-if
they throw your powdercaoted wheels on teh regular machine-they will
get chipped.
anyway...long story short. my old 18" split-rim bias ply tires with
tubes wiegh 30" LESS than my new powdercoated 19.5" rims with 8R19.5
radials.
seems the rims i got are SUPER thick metal. argghh.. so im less than
happy. they look modern, wiegh more... but i didnt want to deal with
split rims and finding Coker 18" bias tires... oh well.
when i win the lottry i will get some billet rims custom made to look
like my original rims.
mark-chico.

rear ones not mounted yet.
BTW-tire shop-les Schwab- refused to mount wheels since i didnt have
flat nuts with captive washers... all i had are flat nuts to go on top
of ring which goes on top of hub-centric wheel.
