The original 55-59 turn signal assemblies are not the same. There are two
styles, one for the flat steering wheel (55-56) and one for the dished
steering wheel (57-59). The column diameter is the same 55-59 but the 57-59
column is shorter in length due to the dished steering wheel. Because they
angled the lever for the 57-59's the hole in the housings are punched in
different locations and the yoke inside the housing that the lever screws
into are different.
57-59 set-up will not work with 55-56 steering wheels.
