My 235 engine in my '53 was redone/overhauled prior to my purchase of the
basket case vehicle. All is well on start-up and running up to about 30-35
mph, and then flattens out. No power, no increased speed and acts as if the
engine is float for lack of a better word. I have tried everything I can think
of, and a local one man shop mechanic has double checked all the usual things
like timing, points, fuel etc.
Is there a way to check the timing advance feature other than looking at it
while reving the engine? What procedure could be used to solve this problem in
an organized manner rather than the helter skelter manner we are trying now?
My truck is 99% done except for this problem and it is driving me bananas!
