[oletrucks] 235 engine remote starter

Hi  Im wondering if anyone has ever used a remote starter under the hood with
a 235 engine  with the floor starter . I tried using one withe the negitive
lead to  ground on the engine and one to the positive lead on the starter and
I fried the cheap remote starter . Does anyone know a way this would work with
the floor starter switch ??and or where I could get a good remote starter
