Regarding the question about fender welt between the inner fender and cab. 
Yes there is precut welt strips available from most of the suppliers for 
this.  They also go between the top of the inner fender and outer fender. 
If you don't use them you will get some leakage as well as the potential for 
squeaks at the joint
