I used to have the same problem with my hopped up 327, I did purchase a
high torque starter for it and it did make a difference. Before at times i
could hit the starter and feel like the battery was weak but it eventually
would turn over at a higher speed. The high torque starter is a bit more
expensive but sure did solve my problem. --wayne
