Hey fellas, I'm having the strangest difficulty: '64
C10, new '71 250 last month to replace a '68 250.
There's nothing odd or hopped up about this vehicle,
original carb and manifolds, etc. When I swapped the
engine I rewired the engine compartment (but this
difficulty was occuring before the rewire anyway...)
At highway speeds, after running for over 1/2 hour the
battery will be drained dead. If I turn on the wipers
or the headlights it nearly knocks the ignition out.
New alternator, new regulator. I'm stumped. What
could be shorting to ground to cause such a loss of
ignition spark and also drain the battery dry?
