I haven't put an LT1 in anything, but I have wired up fuel injection
stuff on my oletruck and some race cars.
Get a wiring diagram for whatever the harness came out of, trace out the
wires you care about, and maybe make a reduced schematic to make your
life easier. Ordering an aftermarket harness from Painless or one of the
others may make your life a lot easier. I think they are about 400
bucks. They look a lot better too.
The ECM may be looking for a transmission. If you aren't using the 4L60E
that probably came behind this engine, it may throw trouble codes and do
other undesirable things. If you are using a manual tranny, you still
will need to install a vehicle speed sensor somewhere.
You will also have to disable the VATS, which is an anti theft thing. I
think maybe you can fool it with a resistor, but that might be some
other system. You can also buy chips with VATS disabled. Chips tend to
run about 300 bucks.
