Martin, It sounds like you have the right size fuel pump and line. 5/16" is the correct size steel tubing for the fuel line (for the 235, at least). The fuel pump and carb should be tapped for 1/8" NPT fittings. A pipe reducer will not work here: the nut needs to push the inverted flare of the tube into the seat of a brass inverted flare fitting in order for it to seal. You should be able to obtain Weatherhead 202X5 or similar fittings at your FLAPS for a few cents each. Andrew 1949 3600 oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959 |
