| I just purchased a fire truck that is basically a modified 1948 Chevy Loadmaster. I'm not sure this was a sane act. The truck's body has rust but not much rot. I do not have a great deal of funds available for a frame up restoration, but I'm willing to put a few thousand it to make the thing look decent. The master brake cylinder is shot, and the exhaust manifold is cracked, so I know I start with those two. After that, what's next--and affordable? Any and all advice is appreciated.
