There won't be enough metal in just one standard leaf to hold the truck up. Mono springs are designed to be mono and are much thicker in the middle where it counts. Reducing one or two leaves is done a lot, but I would caution that when you do this you now change where the load is carried on the remaining leaves and this could cause metal fatigue and front end failure.
