Alan you have the door setup right "second click is for final locking
position".  You will also notice the curve of the latch mates up with the
angled part of the striker.  This angle pulls the door tighter to the cab. 
Try rotating the striker slightly so the latch doesn't have to go up as
high on the angle of the striker to close and you won't have to slam the
door as much.
