I think the trick is to find a bearing that will support the lower end of
the shaft, and then finding a way to couple that shaft to whatever steering
box you are using. Its been done.

Devin, I'm thinking of doing something similar. Keeping the stock column
but adding IFS. Anyone know what all is required? The stock column gets a
lot of support from the steering box, which in my truck is now sitting in
the back yard next to the rest of the stock front suspension.
