Cool. Years ago I had a couple of those Carter YH carbs.
I've thought about the early Corvette intake manifold for a six in one of my
trucks. Has anyone seen one for sale? They are probably pretty tough to
find.

Subject: [oletrucks] rochester carb choke screws, etc.
A couple of weeks ago, I was looking for choke plate screws to rebuild my
Rochester
2-bbl carb.
They are brass 6-32 about 1/4" long with a special small head on them.
Checked hardware stores; head way too large.
Checked Corvette vendors at Knoxville Expo; they all buy used carbs in lots
of 100 or so
and strip them out for parts(so that's why there aren't many of the old base
model carbs
out there).
Checked various rebuilder and performance shops; they can't get them.
Checked a local bolt and screw specialty store; they can't get them either.
Hey, this was getting old...
Then I ran across a carb rebuilder that does Corvair carbs and early vette
carbs
(Corvette side draft and Corvair turbo are both Carter YH); he said that
they are a
special shaft screw and he can get them for 20 cents a piece...so I bought a
handful.
The contact is Grant Wolfe, Wolfe Enterprises, and his email addr is:
gyoungwolf@aol.com
He does rebuilds on just about anything including the GMC Zenith carbs.
