A big block in a truck would have the TH400.

The 402 and 454 look almost identical, the numbers stamped on the block
are different and can help us figure out which it is. I believe the
half ton pickups only got the 402 thru 1972, and the 454 starting in
1973. Big blocks have seven screws holding on each valve cover, while
small blocks have only 4 screws.
If you can find the engine numbers stamped on the block, just in front
of the passenger side head, then we can maybe figure out what it
is...look for a number like T1222TAA, the last 3 letters are the engine
code.
