The panels in floor and under neath are only way to work on it. It isn't
much either. Gotta lay on belly and stand on head to do most things.
Checking oil, points and wires/plugs not too bad. What series number do you
have? 5100 is short wb, 5400 a little longer and 5700 is longest wb. GVW may
change for each length. Depending on what bed and whether it has heavy lift
too, it could be a 7000 lb truck empty. Maybe more if longer. My 54 standard
2-ton is just over 7000 with full gas and me in it. My COE isn't
running/working now, but can't be much diff. My 54 has a 12 ft flatbed and
heavy hoist frame on it.
I hope you're gonna keep it near stock and not "Hack" the body off and put
on new frame! Too many "Hackers" on these lists already! There is a COE
truck list on Yahoo with lots of fellas on it. Go to www.yahoogroups.com and
put in search for oldcoetrucks and it should come up. I'm on it, and others
from lists I'm on. Jolly Goodfellow has pictures at www.carnutz.com and a
forum for COE's there also. Have Fun!
