Hello all.....I'm getting closer to completion on my 1951 Chevy truck and am in
the proccess of making my driver side door latch be lockable on the outside
like the passenger side is. I had the missing link you might say machined to
make this possible and works great. Once I get this installed in my doors and
checked out some more, I will be putting together a kit to do this on your
trucks as well. The kit will include a lockable driver side door latch,
template for outside door lock and detailed instructions. I'm not sure if I
want to include the outside locks themselves due to the fact the it would halve
to be re-keyed to match the pass. side. What I need is some input.
1. How many of you would be interested in this kit?
2. Should I include a door lock with the kit or should I include two locks in
the kit re-keyed already?
3. Does anyone know of someone who makes the "keeper" for the lock? I need to
know if I need to make this item also.
Thanks for all input.
P.S. I also rebuild vent window assemblies but must have good cores in
exchange. Chrome parts are rechromed or replaced, frames are powdercoated and
all rubber and felt is replaced. Ping me off line if interested.
Thanks
Steve Jr.
