I had hit the list with this same question late last year, but I lost many of
the responses due to a machine crash so since I am starting to pick things back
up again I am reposting this question.
The block numbers on my engine are 3701887. According to a casting number page
at hemmings this is from a 1953 235. Here is the site:
http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/chevytalk/GMhistory/1916-57cast.html
When you look at the pictures on my site it looks like the head is from a 216
which I will replace.
Any suggestions from anyone on what to do with this?
I have debated between working on this engine and trying to get it running or
just swapping out to a V8. I know I will get more power with a V8, but I have
always liked the looks of an inline 6 all decked out. Plus I have seen some
pretty strong pullers when they have the right components.
How hard is the 235 to rebuild?
Thanks
