Wow,
My wife complained from the chase car that I was over 70 at one
point..trying to stay out of folks' way on I-5. That was bring the beast
home from the PO's in OR. Ancient bias plys and chunks flying from them!
Running on five cylinders. I now have real (radial) tires and since the
speedo cable's gone again, I trust the way high rev's and stay slower
than most of the traffic around me. That's why I love these old trucks.
Ten years older than I am, and starts up a heck of a lot easier than I
do in the morning! Tough!
Seriously, If the suspension is in good shape: Tires, kingpins,
alignment
and such an AD should go modern freeway speeds with no problems. Of
course there's the gearing thing...
