What did you do to with the shaft to build a longer tang?
going from my not so good memory... there was a semi flexible joint in the
below the drive gear, I split the HEI dist. there and just extended it from
the joint I had to grind the new shaft down to make the connection and
then I used a roll pin to put it back together (and looped some tiny and
super strong wire through just to be sure)
if you get the right HEI, you could take it to a mahchine shop and they
could get a hardened rod the right size and build you the tang they'd
probably have an hour into it total
my other thought was to machine off the base collar on the distributer and
put another higher up trouble with that was it wouldnt have cleared the
side cover as is it fits perfect
I dont have any pics of it (digital anyway) I'll see if I can get some
scanned in in the next few days
