Hello Rich,
I am looking at Page 126-Rear Axle of my Chevy 1951 Spec's-Truck info
included with my restoration package. For 3100 series it lists Final gears as
4.11:1. For 3600 series it lists Final gears as 4.57:1. For 3600 series RPO
it lists Final gears as 5.15:1 (same as 3700, 3800 and 3900 series.) I don't
see anything lower power/higher speed than 4.11. Hope that helps.
Regards,

Someone sent me a scan from the restoration pack on the page with the gear
information on it. It seems that some were 4.11 and some were 3.73 (or
something like that, I don't have it sitting right in front of me here).
One is marked as Reg, the other as RPO. I'm not sure what the RPO means,
but I'm hoping that I'll be able to find a casting number that will tell
me what it is. I go tomorrow to pick it up.
RPO - Ring and Pinion Option?
