Susan, It's been a long time since I've had one apart, BUT, I'm thinking
there's a rod in it's center that stays on the diaphragm, or NOT? Seems like
you have to release a pin or link where the rod ends. Isn't there any
instructions with the kit? Where did you get a kit and how much? I didn't
think you could get one, yet the company's that rebuild must get parts!
Anything in the shop manual on it? OK, I just looked in manual. It says to
carefully with screwdriver to lift the edge of diaphragm up and lift the
spring and oil seal under it over the raised boss in pump body. This is to
see the shaft link in center. Now, it says to unhook the diaphragm and link
by pressing down on center of diaphragm and push link away from rocker arm
side of pump. The rocker arm is the part that sticks out and rides on cam to
pump. The link stays on the diaphragm. There is a picture of the set-up on
page 6-72 in the manual. If you don't have a manual, you should get one.
About $25 most vendors have them. I could scan a couple pages on this if you
don't get it.
