I had my (the latest one) 235 head rebuilt back about 1984. I honestly can't remember if I specified hardened seats or not. But anyway, I've put well over 70,000 miles on it with unleaded gas. With the pointless ignition I added, it fires up and runs great. If it's hurting the engine, it's doing it mighty slow.
