I plan to use my '51 3100 (305 V8, 4-speed) to pull my autocross car around
('74 Triumph TR6) after I get it together (hopefully this summer.
Currently I use our 2001 Suburban, my I hate tossing all my tools, ramps
etc. in the back of it. Also, I can't wait to go pick up another old truck
with my '49 3600 wrecker. Currently I use it to move vehicles around our
place but I need to do some work on the brakes to make it road worthy (if I
step to hard on them all the fluid blows out some where). Plus the front
tires, on 15-inch split rims, are real antiques.
Speaking of cold weather, I spent several hours Saturday and Sunday
afternoons laying on the cold concrete of a 22 degree garage installing a
shifter and linkage on the Saginaw 4 speed in the '51. Definitely a little
chilly.

This sounds like pretty bold talk, Tom:-) From the huge response Susan's
original question has recieved, it sounds like our old trucks have been
dragged back and forth across the country by everything BUT an old Chevy!
Hell, I'm beginning to wonder if I've ever even seen one moving under its
own power.
Sorry. I guess I'm a little depressed. It's cold as you know what in my
garage, and my truck is scattered in a hundered different directions. I'm
sure I'll be better when the weather warms up.
