I have a 283 with a Saginaw 4-speed and 3.08 rear gears. I use the truck
as a daily driver with some hot rodding with a little bit of towing and
occasional hauling. I have a 10 bolt in my '85 with a 350 automatic and
have pulled heavy boats several hundred miles and done some overweight
hauling. My '70 Nova had a 10-bolt and I tortured that car (I was 16)
with never a problem. I think we under-estimate the strength of the
10-bolt.... Until we break one.DOH!!!
