First time emailer here. I bought a 51 chevy 3100. Wonderful original
condition. Long story about how to charge the battery. Seller told me
that instead of going under the floor board to get at the battery to go
onto the starter. Unfortunately I am too much the rookie and I put the
leads on the coil. You can guess the results. Fortunately he gave me
a spare coil with the truck, which I installed. However either the
generator or the regulator is, I think, also burnt out, truck won't
build and hold a charge once it starts after recharging the battery.
The question for you : How do I determine if I only need the
regulator or generator or both?
Thanks for any wisdom
