Dave,

A friend of mine taped his of below the ridges and had them (the ridges) sprayed
with the new spray on bed-liner (Rhino bed-liner).

I pulled my running boards to strip and refinish. They cleaned up great and
looked super when I put them back on. But... now six months later the surface
is pretty scratched up. What have you done to keep the surface unmarred?
Powder coating? Any rubber surface solutions? I have looked at stepping
plates (a potential partial solution, doesn't protect the rear step area used
for reaching in the bed) but most are Chevy stamped and I have a GMC. Any
ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave
