[oletrucks] manifolds

Anyone have advise on permanently cleaning up ram's horn exhaust manifolds?
I know that I can grind and polish them, but don't know how to protect them
once I am done.

I have considered having them chromed.  Is this practical, and will it hold
up?  Recommendations?
