No, it's not. There have been many discussions on this list about it.
But basically it breaks down to this:
1) The only one who benefits from getting move page views on an auction
site are the ones running the site and the one selling the item.
2) If someone is actually looking for said item on the auction site, they
don't want the competition to get the winning bid. Many times there is
much spite and vinegar in their vehemence about the added competition.
3) If someone isn't actually looking for the item on the auction site, they
probably don't want it, or are most likely just going to be competition for
the ones that are actively seeking item.
4) The guys that make this list possible (me and Mark Braddakis) don't get
any benefit out of blind posts from ebay, and certianly you the buyer don't
get any benefit having to pay more.
5) I run the list the way I want lists to be run. You don't like it? Go
start another list dedicated to posting auctions for old truck stuff.
Heck, I bet a bunch of lazy folks that don't have the time to search ebay
will be happy to join it.
