I spotted a decent-looking 55 2nd 6400 dually (that's what the
four-wheels-on-one-axle ones are called, right?) for sale in my
neighborhood in Boulder, CO. It looks to be in fair shape -- it's pretty
big, with a dump-truck-looking bed (without the dumping part) that's
always filled with lots of heavy-looking chunks of wood or junk whenever
I've seen it around.
The truck's not mine, nor do I know the owner, but it looks pretty nifty.
No price listed on the For Sale sign, just the number (720) 272-3792.
On another note, I talked to a guy driving a 53 wagon today -- it was an
ambulance in a former life, and the guy was in the process of fixing it
up, and had a sun roof up front and in back, as well as a decent-looking
stereo system and a nice deep blue paint job. That one was definitely not
for sale, though he did mention that he would soon be removing the two
spotlights. I told him he should definitely sell those. He also said
that he's heard of someone installing an exterior sun visor on an AD
truck, only to get it hack-sawed off while parked somewhere in Denver!
