The second unfortunate encounter with a big rig literally punted me and my
truck off the road and into a ravine. The driver side tank was flat against
the frame and the other side was cracked open like an egg (U shaped
truck)... I wasn't on the street long enough for a spark to ignite anything
and the big rig kept going.... I love my trucks because they took more
abuse than anything I ever could give them and the kept me alive in very
dangerous situations. I sent pictures and written documentation to GM
engineering with a warm felt thank you....

I still get stuff every once in a while about a settlement
from GM for the
'73-87s from what I remember they were going to give me
$1000 off on a
brand new pickup... so all I needs another $35,000 and I'll
be able to take
advantage of that!! I was never worried about the tanks
being on the side
other than its a real pain in the ass to fill them
Dustin
It sure helped that NBC used those igniters to make sure the
fuel
leaks caught fire. :-/
