Thanks to all who passed on information about which headers or exhaust
manifolds might work with the stock steering box and a small block chev.
A local rodder showed me the set up in his truck and I wanted to pass along the
part number for anyone else out there doing the same thing.
By the way I put the engine in using the procedure outlined in the February
1977 Street Rodder article "V8 juice for your Stovebolt" (it can be found in
the archives).
A stock exhaust manifold with the part number 346247 LH will slip in on the
drivers side like it was made for the application! There is a nice
depression which clears the stock steering box.
Thanks again for the help from the group!
