Jim:
Check out Dave Cunningham's web page at
http://home.cshore.com/djcvjc/newparts.html
He was also looking for this impossible-to-find part. He ended up
making his own. It looks good in the picture. Maybe he should go into
the
business. He also made the GMC specific turn signal knob.

Subject: [oletrucks] GMC TF Shifter Knob
Hi all,
I am still in need of an original shifter knob for my 1858 GMC with
Hydramatic. A picture can be viewed on my web site at:
http://www.angelfire.com/mi2/jrvvehicles/gmcMisc.html
If anyone out there in truck land has one or knows of one please let me
know.
Thanks,
Jim V.
