You can do it in the truck but!
If you have any wear Cyl.,journals and ect.
you would need to pull the motor anyway
and I would mic. everything while it was down.
you put in new rings boost your compression
and boom you hear a main knock or worse a
Rod.
Feel for a ring grove and that will tell you allot
