I have some lovely experience with Saginaws. As you found out, it
doesn't take much to break them. My advice is to replace it with a
Muncie or T10 4-speed, or a T5 so you'll have an OD gear. If you find
one with the right tailshaft length it should be a bolt-in swap, if not
you might need a custom length driveshaft. You'll need a new shifter
for the 4-speeds, or a new hole in the floor for the 5-speed. I'd try
your local junkyard (auto recycler); a T5 out of a Camaro or S10
shouldn't be too hard to find. Borg-Warner still makes the T10 or Super
T10. Summit Racing sells new trannies, but they're pretty pricey,
$1500-2000.

Subject: [oletrucks] saginaw trans
does anyone know of a link where I might find information for saginaw 4
speed transmissions? I broke mine into four pieces and need to rebuild
but can't seem to find new parts or a diagram to rebuild by. Appreciate
any help. Deacon 55 2nd
