Yes, Chevrolet had a Tach as an Option (RPO-266) for the 2 & 2-1/2 ton TF
trucks. It is dash mounted and fits between the Light Switch and the Choke
Knob. It is made by SUN and had a thin plastic adapter the allow it to
flush mount on the curve of the dash. The transmitter mounts on the inner
fender.
I have a picture in one of my books, just can't find it right now....
The Tach range is 0-50, its face is Black with White letters and Red Oval
that reads "R.P.M. in Hundreds".
Try Scott Cornwell @ 734-775-7037 (Michigan), he deals in old Sun Tachs. I
got my adapter from him.

Subject: [oletrucks] tachometer?
> Does anyone have a tachometer or picture of an installed tachometer that
was used on the bigger Chevy trucks for 55-59? I think the GMC trucks may
have had a tach in the dash as an option. I'm looking for info on the Chevy
tach, which I think was column mounted. I'm curious to see if I could come
up with a retrofit for my Chevy suburban that would look reasonable
stock/orginal and figure that the best way is to find a unit from one of the
bigger trucks.
