I am new to the mailing list. I have a 57 Cameo and three other 57 big back
window Chevy pickups. My son and I are working on them in various stages. He
of course is thinking street rod and Dad, being the nostalgic one, is
thinking restoration.
I am hoping someone can help me out. I am wondering if the 57 Cameo was
available in all 15 factory colors that year? Also what were the interior
color combinations available with each color for the Cameo? Perhaps a 57
sales brochure would have that answer but have never been able to locate
one. If anyone knows where I can get a 57 sales brochure please let me know.
Another more elusive question for me concerns the 265 V8 in the Cameo. I am
overhauling the engine and was wondering what color the engine came painted
from the factory? I can't tell the original color from the old block. I
have asked several "experts" but have been told differing answers including
"orange", "green", "blue" and "it depends on which plant the engine was
manufactured in".
Hope someone out there can help me out.
