Charles,
What you need is a turn signal switch that the brake lights run through
like most modern trucks. That uses the same filiment for the brake and
turn lights.
If you have an original switch it was made to use separate lights that
bolt to the side of the truck. Those lights are rare as hens teeth. I
have found that the tail lights off a '39 chevy coupe are the same.
It would be possible to put an extra bulb in there but would be a lot of work.
You could also get a "brake light converter" that is made for cars with
separate turn signals to tow trailers with combined brake and trun
signals. Wire that in between the switch and rear lights and it would
work just fine. Any auto parts store or u-haul should have one.
