Try swapping the wide pulley onto the new alternator and stick with wide belt. You have to keep the original pulley diameters in proportion. GMC wter pumps are getting very expensive, so I wouldn't abuse it. Change to neg ground at this time. Swap ammeter leads. Bob ADler > I've got a GMC 248 straight six to upgrade to a 12 volt alternator > system. The original belt and pulleys were 7/8". My goal is change out oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959 |
