2+ years ago I had this part, the GMC logo that mounts to it,
the V8 and Hydra-Matic signs from the fenders and the grill
pieces from my 57 GMC rechromed at a shop in Mesquite Texas
for around $120.

Hey there list...

I have a 1955 GMC hood emblem with the grill backing plate that I bought
last
year. It is an original piece that was painted from the factory and the
previous owner partially restored it before selling it to me (it was
sandblasted and primered gray;has no pits or breaks). I was just going to
paint it white again, but decided I would rather have it chromed. Does
anyone know of a good source for me to take this to in the New Jersey area
to
get it chromed? I have no clue where to go to get this done. Also, what is

the *average* price for getting a piece like this chromed, just so I know
I'm
not being taken to the "cleaners"! Any help will be greatly appreciated.
