I have the 40lb unit. It works fine although it goes through a lot of the ceramic tips, and the valves definitely have a short life. It needs about 15cfm to run. I don't know anything about the 20lb unit other than the fact that it is smaller. It might serve you well however if you bought that sears compressor.
