...dammed if it didn't happen to me now....a '49 Panel found it's way
to my house (from this list) and I hadn't even come close to finishing
my '49 1/2 ton.....
The plan is to get the Panel running (without spending 'much' money)
and putter about in it for a while until the pickup is done....then
we'll see.
I have a couple of questions....the engine is a six-cylinder (even I
can confirm that much)...it's been said to be a full-pressure 235 (not
original)...the engine casting numbers (below the ditstributor are:
CON4 E98 GM3 3738307. The head has 3836850 GM 5 on the driver's
side. What can anyone tell me about this motor. (I looked at the
mortec.com site but it only lists V8s)
Another question...the motor has an external spin-on oil
filter...there's a hose coming from the back of the motor on the
driver's side...Q: Where does the return hose go back into the motor??
I'm sure there'll be a lot of dumb questions and, as someone said
earlier, I can't hear you laughing, so I'll ask 'em.
Thanks for the help...
