I'm having trouble diagnosing a turn signal gremlin. I'm hoping someone
here has some ideas on what to check. Factory turn signal stopped working
a few months back when it was still cold and snowy here in
Buffalo. Finally had time to work on it. Truck has been rewired by prior
owner, but the wiring for the turn signal in the steering column was not
replaced. I started out with the obvious and cheap stuff. Checked bulbs,
no broken filaments. Fuses fine. Replaced flasher, no
difference. Removed turn signal switch. Thought I found the problem when
I pulled out some horribly bared wires. I replaced the switch tonight with
a brand new one from Chevy Duty, but that didn't remedy the problem
either. Everything else in the truck works.
Is there some other connection I should be looking at?
What other problems would cause this result?
How can I test whether the new switch is good?
I'm open to suggestions on how to proceed.
